Much like bad weather hit the north-west the prior day, Manchester City overwhelmed the visitors aside at the Etihad. It was a convincing 3-0 triumph for Andrée Jeglertz’s side owing to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a performance that firmly established their title credentials as they consolidated their standing at the WSL pinnacle.

Consecutive Losses for United

This scoreline signalled back-to-back Women's Super League defeats for Skinner's side for the maiden instance since last May, placing them seven points off the table toppers with their trophy ambitions hanging by a thread.

The Red Devils' ability to juggle league and European soccer with a thin team has been a hotly discussed issue since they secured entry to the Champions League.
